January is

always a busy month here in Kenya since it is school opening month and preparations for the term. This is the month that most children end missing school due to late reopening of school or sometimes due to lack of school fees and other required needs that parents need to meet before they send their children back to school. It is a very sad moment since some of the teenage girls and boys end up not finishing their school term and young girls end up with early pregnancy which affect their study and forces them into early marriage. Most of them end up single mothers adding more sorrow to the community. Most young teenage boys are forced to start taking drugs which ruin their bright future, some end up joining bad company which corrupts their good morals. They start doing activities such as robbery in their teenage age, this is a sad reality that we encounter as a family and a ministry as we go around this remote areas within Kitale in Trans-Nzoia County. This is one of the reasons why we are taking the initiative of going around and encouraging the teenage girls and boys to go back to school, we started with Zebulon and brother Bryant gave us a support that we have used so far to get Zebulon back to school and from there the head teacher of St Emmanuel Primary school, a school which is in the slums of Forkland area in Namanjalala Location. Requested us to help a family whose parents are struggling to support their children in school, the children are four in number and they are in the same school, these four sometimes they miss school due to lack of meals at home. So the teacher Mr Francis asked us to help and we took Jacob a grade Seven student in St Emmanuel Primary school to buy him a new full school uniform from the little amount that had left from Zebulon’s budget, he is so bright but due to lack of support his grades in class are dropping, he was in need of school uniform and we got him a new pair of school uniform.

Our Prayer Request is to support Jacob and his three brothers, to have them eat at school and also get the remaining brother and sister a school uniform each. They need 20 tins of maize and 10 tins of beans for their lunch in school. For maize and beans it is $50 and the money for the cook is $20. For their school uniforms and shoes is $80 the total amount to help these family stay at school is $150. With $150 Jacob and his two brothers and a sister will stay at school. Pray with us over this request that our God will provide and help these children realize their dream come true as we did to Zebulon.

Just last month, our friends Samuel and Ann from AnnSam Community Care Foundation made a tremendous impact in Kitale, Kenya. Through your generous support, they helped a community rid themselves of jiggers that had plagued their hands and feet. One of the lives transformed by this initiative is Zebulon, a young boy who had been struggling with this infestation. Thanks to your donations, Samuel and Ann were able to put Zebulon back in school by covering his school fees, providing him with uniforms, books, and even meals for the semester. Another boy, Jacob Kamau, also received assistance to replace his worn-out uniform, allowing both boys to return to their classrooms with confidence.

But the impact doesn’t stop there. Yesterday, AnnSam Community Care began distributing sanitary napkins to girls in the area, addressing a critical need to prevent them from missing school days each month. Thanks to the generosity of a donor who saw their Facebook post, 400 sanitary napkins were provided for distribution.

If you’re inspired by the incredible work of AnnSam Community Care and want to be part of this life-changing mission, you can follow them on Facebook or visit their website. Samuel and Ann have hearts full of compassion for serving God and their community, and your support can help them continue this vital work in Kenya and Africa.

Remember, even small donations can make a huge difference, as evidenced by the transformative stories shared by Samuel and Ann. Together, we can lift lives and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for your support!

Warm regards,

Erik, Chicago
